About Our Pastor...
Caleb and Meghan Terry both grew up in Christian homes where the Bible was believed and a relationship with the Lord was made a priority. They were both saved at a young age, Caleb at 8 years old and Meghan at 12 years old. This foundation of a Christian home, along with the influence of Godly people in their lives lead them to surrender their lives to whatever the Lord had for them.
In 2019, after several fruitful years of ministry in Alabama, they felt the call from the Lord to plant a church. Through much prayer and counsel, CityLight Baptist Church was planted in Gallatin, TN in March of 2021. They have two wonderful sons, Judah and Lincoln.
How it all started...
After several years of praying and fasting about where God would send them, Caleb and Meghan decided to step out by faith to plant a new church. Beginning in late 2019, and then into 2020 through the COVID pandemic, they raised finances to be able to start and operate this brand new ministry. They began having Bible studies in their home with a small group of people and saw the Lord bind people’s hearts to the vision of planting this new church. This grew into a weekly Bible study at Public Square in downtown Gallatin. Even for the first several years of City Light, they continued having their midweek Bible study here at Public Square.

Expanding the vision...
It became obvious that it was time to launch public meetings, and they were able to acquire the use of the conference room at the Hampton Inn here in Gallatin. Every week, they would set up their sound equipment and prepare for whomever the Lord would send them, and then after the service, take everything down again.
In March of 2021, CityLight Baptist Church officially held it’s Grand Opening service, and began a journey that only the Lord could write. God has been so gracious to our church family since those early days. We were able to see people give their lives to Christ, be baptized and discipled here in this space, and for it we will be eternally grateful.

Advancing the Mission...
Due to a growing congregation and a need for more space, specifically for our children’s ministry, they were able to acquire the meeting space at “The Venue” here in Gallatin on S. Water Ave. This provided more opportunities for our little ones to have their own designated spaces. This provided a great opportunity for us to be able to further minister to families, grow together as a church and see the Lord bless. We continued to meet early on Sundays to set up and tear down our equipment and prepare for our church family.
Where we've landed...
A church property became available about 2 miles north of the property where we were meeting, and we were able to secure a lease on that property to meet. With the blessing of the church family, we did both an exterior and intensive interior remodel of the whole property. We believe that everything we do should be done with excellence “as unto the Lord.” The Lord has blessed us as we have grown our ministries and provided opportunities for outreach we had not had before.
We look forward to seeing what the next chapter holds for City Light and are excited to see how the Lord will use us as we strive to:
“Love God, Grow Together, and Serve Others.
